Movement Tactic: Tabling
During the event "March fourth on March 4th" our group along with other groups participated together in gathering information for students to be informed. We were located in the free speech area, and each group from my class had their own table with information, flyers, and pictures about their cause. My group "fighting for paws" and I made posters with pictures of animals who have been abuse, along with statistics. We also made handouts for those students passing by. Our handouts had information about low cost nearing and low cost vaccines for animals. During class we were given the materials needed to make posters for our causes, our poster focused on dogs and cats but we also had statistics for other types of animals. I think the free speech area was a great place to have this event and we were lucky to have been there during a busy time where students are passing through. I was very surprised when students actually stopped by out table and asked about our cause. I was able to talk to many students who were also against animal abuse. Many were interested and took our handouts with them. We were also required to ask students for their emails so we can be able to inform them more about our cause. Mostly everyone who stopped by our table agreed to give us their email, they thought it would be good to hear more about our cause. I felt really happy knowing that many students did care about our cause, and I felt like I was making a difference by just informing others about animal abuse. My group and I were able to hand out all the flyers we had made, we thought if we are able to share information with one person, they will also share it with another.
