Summary
For my first summary I read the article "VenezuelanProtests the Attempt by U.S." I thought this article was interesting for social movements because it involved movements in another country. It is important for our country to know aboutthese politics because it involves as well as impacts us. The article discusses how protesters in Venezuela have been leading to deaths. So Far there has been a few deaths with an added six more. This has been gathering the attention of people around the world. Included in the number of fatalities was a local beauty queen who died of a gunshot wound. The article also discusses an arrest of the new president of the country. He is being charged with ordering an explosion of 3 U.S officials and it is said that he is siding with the enemy.

The second article that I read was "Chokwe Lumba: Remembering Americas most Revolutionary Mayor". ChokweLumumba was a revolutionist who was very involved with movements for Americans rights as well as African American rights. His passing cause a lot of people to reflect on his great accomplishments while also informing people of the things he has done to help this country. He was an attorney as well as a Black Nationalist and organizer. He participated in things such as being the vice president of the republic in New Africa, as well as working with Malcolm X in the Grassroots Movement. Unfortunately he recently passed due to heart failure. In his lifetime he has accomplished great things to help the people.
