Hands Off Assata Shakur: Angela Davis Calls for Radical Activism to Protect Activist Exiled in Cuba

In this article from Democracy Now! The article discusses President Obama's recent trip to Cuba, which is the first presidential visit to Cuba in eighty-eight years. The article consist of a transcribed conversation between Amy Goodman and Assata Shakur who was a member of the Black Panther Party and convicted of killing a New Jersey State Trooper during a social movement demonstration in 1973; however, Ms. Shakur was able to escape to Cuba with help from some of her friends and till this day proclaims her innocence. Angela Davis a long time believer in Assata's innocence has fought to protect the name of Assata Shakur as an innocent woman and now with the recent visiting to Cuba by President Obama Mrs. Davis is calling for social action to protect Assata from being prosecuted and extradited to the United States of America. Mrs. Davis Say extreme activism is needed to protect Assata's life because there has been a two-million dollar bounty put on her head and she has also been named as one of the top ten most dangerous terrorist alive.
