This Democracy Now story was about the group called "Our Children's Trust" that filed a lawsuit on behalf of 21 people, who are all under the age of 21, against the U.S. government for "violating their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property" based on the government's failure to reduce fossil fuel emissions. Although the U.S. government and the fossil fuel industry attempted to have the case dismissed, a federal judge in Oregon rejected it, claiming that if the allegations are true, then it would not only be violating the plaintiffs' rights, but would also be endangering public health and the public's constitutional rights. This movement shows examples of framing when 9 year old Tayo Olsen says that her class went on a field trip to watch salmon spawn, which won't be able to happen if climate change gets any worse. Many other young people spoke about why they cared about climate change as well. These are examples of framing because most people feel that children are innocent, making their language regarding climate change more impactful.

Students of "Who's Teaching Us?" at Stanford University are protesting the lack of diversity in their faculty, which is 73% white and 73% male. The movement "grew out of Stanford's Asian American Activism Committee in 2014" after a homosexual Asian-American English professor, who was well liked and trusted in the student community, was denied tenure by the department.  This is an example of political opportunity theory because this teacher getting denied tenure made it a great time for the movement to rise up and get their message out there. In addition, it is also a good time for the movement because there are many other college campuses across the country, that have recently been demanding greater diversity on their campuses as well.
