FOOD FOR ALL MOVIE NIGHT
The food stamp challenged documentary was really interesting. The first time I saw it 3 years ago made a great impact on me this is why I myself did the food stamp challenged to experience what it was like even though growing up my family and I also were food insecure and deepened on food stamps can the food the community bank would give out once a month. We did not have a lot of people show up for the movie but it was not as bad either we had some students or that is what matters. I loved the discussion we had and got to share a lot of the experiences of our own. This documentary this couple shared for the food stamp challenged was very empowering to me because they made me realize that many people face this problems every day. Food insecure is a big problem and I always question myself why American is is one of the riches countries in the entire world. But then I realized that many people are not aware of how it is a big issue that needs to be addressed. Only we the people can really change this in our country if we speak out. The government doesn't do anything about it because we the people do not do anything about it, we have control over it because it is our money and it is coming out of our check. This documentary shows how living on food stamps is mostly impossible to live on and if they do it is because they are eating unhealthy meals. This documentary shows how important it can be to grow our own vegetables and fruits can be healthier and also cheaper for healthy meals. Dumpster digging is also another thing many people do to have a deal a day like they showed on the documentary. Food Banks is one of the most important because I think they do a lot of good things by distributing food to families that need it. Food banks can be another good resources to use or even food pantries and hot meal sites. I honestly think there are many programs that can help a family out and not be food insecure, but many families do not have the transportation to go to programs like this or they are simply not aware that this programs even exist. Not all the food that Food Bank provides are healthy choices, but at the end of the day I do think it is better to have at least a meal of some kind in your stomach than not having anything at all.
