Iron Jawed Angeles
This movie portrays the women suffrage movement in where defiant young activists fight for the women's rights and the right to vote. Political Opportunity: The young lady activists took a stand at the right time and took a risk of protesting outside the white house knowing they would be attracting a lot of people. In most cases many of the people were against their movement. Many men would yell at the young ladies and even tear down the flag the women carried which had scripts of the President Woodrow's words. This led to police involvement and arrested the young activists for abstracting traffic. Resources Mobilization: Lady activists were arrested for abstracting traffic, this was not good for their movement because they weren't violating any laws. Due to the fact that they got arrested they had to pay a fine, which the young activists refused to pay because they were not doing anything wrong. Instead they decided to go to jail for 60 days. Framing: Young activists wanted women to be granted the same rights as men they didn't want to be treated differently. They wanted to be treated equally, not separate and unequal. They fought for the right to vote because women wanted to have rights. When in jail the women did a hunger strike and refused to eat until they were granted rights. Therefore, as the hunger strike continued and more ladies contributed to the hunger strike, women were liberated and they were granted the right to vote.
The Zapatistas

Resource Mobilization: The Zapatistas don't have money and resources, that is why they're fighting against the Mexican government. They took away their land and resources that they once had and don't have now.
