The family of Tamir Rice received six million dollars this past week due to the death of their son. While the death may have been two year ago Black Lives Matter activists protested the situation that occurred, until justice was met. A caller reported seeing Tamir with a toy pellet gun but didn't relay the information properly. The caller mentioned while the young man was playing with a gun it was "probably fake". When police officers arrived to the seen they immediately shot to boy and killed him. Moments later, his fourteen years old sister ran to his side and police talked and handcuffed her. Black Lives Matter activists used resource mobilization in order to bring together the community in Cleveland, Ohio to demand justice for Tamir. The family used part of their money in order to educate the youth in the danger of mishandling both real and facsimile firearms.
Before President Obama arrives in Germany approximately 90,000 people began to protest the Transatlantic Trade and Investment: Partnership (TTIP) between the U.S. and European Union. TTIP would undermine safety and environmental regulations. It would do this in order to boost corporate interests. While the tens of thousands gather to protest this deal an individual in the crowd named Ivo Ivancic states "They are creating a second judicial system and working behind their backs". Ivo and the fellow protestors are using resource mobilization and framing theory in order to back up their protests. By gathering tens of thousands of people they are not letting their cause go down without a fight. With framing theory they are framing key points in their issue such as not letting Ivo and his fellow protestors be part of the negotiations and keeping them in the dark about what is happening.
