Summary of Democracy Now - A Torturer's Confession: Former Abu Ghraib Interrogator Speaks Out

            The election of 2016 for the republican party stand of divisive issues related to torturing, when Republican candidates running for the nomination ask a question of defining what is their definition of torture. Republican Donald Trump and Ted Cruz give details about what the term tortures really means for them. For Cruz, he suggests that torture is nothing more than a form of enhance tactic to extract information from a prisoner. And Trump that he understands what torture is, and  he would not only have permitted, but he would also make it even tougher for terrorist if they are keeping information. The issue of torture, weatherboarding, and other similar forms, from the Republican hopeful candidates suggested that Republican truly did not understand what torture really means, despite public outrage at the time of the scandal. And even after several years later Republicans believe that torture is okay. Eric Fair a prior Army personnel working at the prison express that psychological toll Eric Fair was force to endure. And he still endures even after being fired from the army. That private contractor hire in executing the job of handling prisoner, they fails to inform him what his duties would be. The interview with a past Abu Ghraib Interrogator that was charged for using torture while working for an exclusive contractor. Eric Fair at first joined after the 2001 terrorist attack on the twin tower. When he joined the army, Mr. Fair felt that it was his obligation and needed it to help combat to fight, but his initial goal was to be part of a police force in the United States. Something he would not be able to do because of the charges abusing a prisoner in Abu Ghraib. Fair express his experience to the reality of working for private contractors abroad. He explains that once he arrives at the prison of Abu Ghraib, he was dropped at the location the company took off leaving him and few others in command with extracting information from the prisoners. He was given a book that explains the tactics and procedure to force a prisoner.
Many collective movement share similarities one of the such similarities is how they are able to frame their mission statement. by using compelling stories that appeal to emotion. And while Mr.  Eric Fair, he is not part of a political movement the story and experience that he endures in the Iraq war in which he was charged for violating laws against interrogation. He can show that powerful institution compromises the character of individual's ability to do his or her jobs effectively. Thus, allowing for readers and observers to recognize that there were lost from both sides of the trenches.
