This Democracy Now story was on the presidential race about the recent winnings by "underdogs" Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz in the Wisconsin primary. This was an especially unexpected state for Sanders and Cruz to win because Wisconsin usually votes for the front-runner candidates. The reason behind Ted Cruz's win was at least partly due to the public seeing his candidacy framed as a vote for "anybody but Trump" or  "anti-Trump." In addition, his campaign was also framed as Evangelical Christian, which led him to gain political support from these Christians. On the other hand, Sanders candidacy has used framework that highlighted things such as "corporate trade deals that have really hurt the middle class," which resonate well with the people of Wisconsin, because their state has recently lost many manufacturing jobs. In addition, his candidacy is framed as hope for getting rid of the corrupt political system that is currently in place. This encouraged many students to come out and vote, despite having extremely restrictive voter ID laws in place for the first time.

This Democracy Now story highlighted various Puerto Rican student protestors during their previous protest in March outside of the Puerto Rican treasury. As of April 5th, at least three of the University of Puerto Rico campuses have decided to strike again, with one campus actually shutting down. The previous interviews of the student protestors featured in this story showed evidence of framing because there was no one spokesperson, just many people diagnosing the problems that they believe are jeopardizing their higher education system.  These problems include things such as eliminating teachers, classes, scholarships, and financial aid, which the students perceive to be a human rights crisis. One student protestor says, "We can't let them come with the excuse that there is a crisis. The crisis is not our fault. We are students, and we will defend what is fair, that everybody has access to a public education."
