On March 4th I arrived around 12:20 and looked around and talked to each table and what they were there for and found the sign in sheet and signed in at around 12:40. At that time I listened to the Raging Grannies up on the "stage" and there were about 15 of them, 2 on the keyboard, and the rest in two lines singing from booklets. The songs they sang were interesting because they were familiar tunes, but they switched the words. You had to listen closely what they were saying, and a lot of the verses were clever and funny. Two songs I remember specifically were ones about legitimate rape, and one about the women's rights "don't say uterus". Both of these song's had to deal with women's rights and the controversial issue of abortion. In the song "don't say uterus" it talks about how men got to decide what women could and couldn't do with their bodies, and after all the fetus was growing inside them, so they should have a say. The group went on past 1 o'clock and in that time I helped make signs for people. I made my own sign saying "global warming is real" since I am passionate about the environment., and how we discussed in class that it should be short and bold. I was looking forward to doing the march, but wasn't able to participate because a family issue had come up. I left my sign with a few of my friends and I believe they used it, I'm not sure. During this event it was interesting to see all the different views people had, and what they were passionate about. I feel using our rights of free speech is important, and that we should take advantage of it. Change will never happen unless someone speaks up. Usually I am shy and try to not to cause problems etc, but in the free speech area I felt that I could express my views without being judged, but agreeing to disagree if you will. It is alright for someone to have different views, but the first step is to express them.  Quite a lot of people were at the event and I think it was well worth my time to go and be in that atmosphere.
