DN! Women Rally at U.N. to Demand Justice for Slain Honduran Environmentalist Berta Cáceres
March is Women's History month, in response to the assignation of Berta caceres and Protesters marched to the UN Honduras Mission. They came to demand justice in the assignation of Berta, and for the release of Gustavo Castro Soto, who witnessed the shooting and was shot 2 times himself. Soto fears for his life, but Honduras Government has banned him from leaving to return to Mexico. The Honduran UN representative was not in.
I think the Honduran Government has a Public Relations issue on the their hands now. Given the rampant assisination rate of environmental activtist, 2 a week in 2014, according to Global Witness, Honduras will probably find a patsy and shot them
Social Movement action taken: The Women utilized marching and protest. They chanted "Freedome for Gustavo!" as their frame. The killing of Berta is tragic diagnosis to the problem.
