March on March 4

I attended the March on March 4th  on behalf of Animal Rigfhts with my group SNARL (Spay Neuter Adopt Rescue Love). I came early with our tabling signs.  I had two classes to attend, so after setting up I had to leave.   After class, as I got closer to the free speech area, I could hear the chatter and feel the energy. It was exciting to approach and then be in the midst of it.

There were a lot of people tabling for their causes: Anti-hunger, Anti-Sex Trafficing,  unfair criminal prosecution and violence, and many more.   The Animal rights team had arranged for a local rescue to come and table and march if they wanted.  Fresno Bully Rescue came and they brought with them   several people and "Toodles" a very sweet pitbull that was ready for adoption.  Our combined tabling and and Toodles was a great success.  We had to go to the library and make more copies of our flyer.

The Marching itself was awesome.  The last march I did was at Los Angeles International Airport for gay rights in the 1990's.  This march was much smaller, but had so much energy. We all chanted out our messages about midway, we began joining  in and chanting with others for their messages:  "Free our bodies amd" "Adopt don't Shop"   It was fun, but also gave a bigger sense of being a part of. Chatting the other slogans made me feel a integral part of all the movements.

Eldridge Cleaver said "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem."  By marching in a group with many different causes, I got to be part of the solution for many important causes.
