Flyers/ Chalking
This event went well. We were able to draw attention to our cause by chalking various facts around campus. The facts that we used are the ones that I was able to look up for my group. The facts included student's debt after graduation, the average student debt in the year 2013, the cost of tuition, and the how much tuition has gone up over the past five years. The places we chose to chalk were places that had a lot of foot traffic throughout the day like the fountain and the library. It was cool to see people stop and read what we were chalking. We even had people come up to us and ask us what we were doing which was pretty neat that individuals were showing interest in our group. We were also able to hand out flyers to people while we were doing the chalking. I found that more people stopped to read what we chalked than what we were handing out. I think that everyone seemed to be in a hurry and were not willing to stop to grab a flyer. In fact, people actually tried to avoid us when they saw us. That was a bit discouraging knowing that people were trying to avoid what we were trying to bring awareness to. Some things I would have done differently are trying to print the flyers out on different colors. Maybe having colorful flyers would have drawn more attention to our cause. Additionally, I would have probably done more chalking. Although we focused on areas were a lot of people walked we probably could have chalked more.
