The first story talks about the impact that the cut in food stamps has had in families all over the country. 1 in 6 families in the US are going hungry because they cannot afford to buy adequate food. The International Human Rights Clinic at New York University's School of Law reports that 50 million people are going hungry including 17 million children. Since the cut down of the food stamps, food insecurity has skyrocketed in the nation. The second story is about how the climate change is drastically affecting the water and food supply. The United Nations reported that because of the climate change; food insecurity will grow, poverty will be harder to reduce, and the economy will grow slower. This has been the direst warning about the effect of greenhouse gases on our lives.
