The situation in the Ukraine has been growing tenser as a call for complete removal of pro-Russian demonstrators in the Ukraine has gone unheeded. The Ukraine government has issued a warning that several troops will be moved in to withhold its sovereignty. The protesters have been occupied in state owned buildings as they demonstrate a break from the Ukraine to Russia. The Ukraine government had a deadline which called for the immediate removal of all demonstrators from these occupied government buildings. The deadline passed with no change in the demonstrator's demeanor leading the Ukraine to threaten a full scale assault in the removal of the pro-Russian supporters. At a hearing at the United Nations Samantha Powers accused the Russian government in supplying and being behind the occupation stating the fact that many of the demonstrators had the colors and separatist Russian flags showing once they occupied the buildings. If a full scale attack is launched by the Ukraine it may lead to an all-out war in the region with many Russian troops already in place at the borders.
The intergovernmental panel on climate change has issued a report stating the earth has only fifteen years to reverse the devastating global warming that has been caused. The report states that since so many countries have taken far too long to act it will take an immediate change to avoid a global crisis by the turn of the century. The IPCC showed that emissions have grown instead of receded and said it will take a global treaty to have a positive effect. The lowering cost of alternative energy should be monopolized according to the IPCC it is not beyond the power of all the countries to make a change that will ensure the survival of the earth and its population.
