Push Polling/ Online Survey

I really struggled with this event. Being that I am quiet, I really struggled with the idea of having to call people and ask them to take a survey. I was not looking forward to it at all but when it came time to actually start making calls it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The day we created the question our group only had two people in class. So, it was only me and one other person that created a majority of the questions. Out of the two hours I spent push polling I was only able to get 4 people to take the survey. It was very hard for me to ask if someone would be willing to take the survey and to be constantly turned down or even be hung up at times. There were several times where I wanted to quit but couldn't. One person made the push polling rewarding for me though. It was an older gentleman who was willing to take the survey. It was rewarding because even after the survey was over I was still talking to him about our education system. I really enjoyed sharing my view points on this subject and having someone who was willing to listen was awesome. If I were to do this all over again I think that I would choose a different time to call people. I had to call people in the morning because that is what worked with my schedule but next time I think that I would try to call people later in the afternoon. I think that I would have gotten more people to take the survey because they would not have been at work. Now that I have been the person to call and ask people to take a survey I am more reluctant to answer surveys from others as well. Before I would either not answer the phone if it was a number I did not recognize or answer and hang up. Now that I have been on the other side I realize how difficult it is and I am now willing to take a few minutes out of my time to answer a few questions. Although it was difficult to find people to take the survey we did have a few that were willing to do so. Finding showed that females were more willing to take the survey. Also, most of the people who took the survey had some college and made less than $10,000 a year. Results also showed that most people did not know that the average student debt for Fresno State student in the year 2013 was about $35,200. Many people think that school should be more affordable and I couldn't agree anymore.
