Tabling: FOOD FOR ALL
I think tabling was very organized more than I thought it would have been. We organized this protest very quick and I believe it came out very well. At least I know that our Food For All (FOOD AWARENESS) did have great information and a lot of things to interact and give information to the students and several staff that pass by. We did a Price Match game that educated many of the people that stop by our table. The purpose of having a price match game was for them to guess the prices of fruits and vegetables as well as the fast food groceries, for example, macaroni and cheese, cup of noddle's and can foods that are not healthy and do not provide any kind of vitamins. After, many of the people that realized that it is easier and cheaper to have access to fast food for the reason that it is cheaper. On the other hand, vegetables and fruits are not all year long available and that is why sometimes it is more expensive and many replace it with many junk food. Which that was our main purpose to inform many individuals that this causes many people be overweight or obese. Also, many led to junk food for the reason that they are food insecure and do not have an income to provide family with healthier choices. I think our Price match game brought many people to our table. Another thing I saw was that giving something as a reward to people that stop by helped us get more people in our tables. At least our table did give away all the oranges, bananas, and apples away. Which everyone prefer that over a candy something our group members and I notice. One of the things as a whole class in the future can do to have more people involve post fliers all around campus, in case people are interested on stopping by our tables. One the best experiences I got was interacting with people about our cause (FOOD FOR ALL) made me realize that many people in campus do suffer food insecurity and many do not open up. While others simply did not know about any of the services that are provide in the city. In the tabling event I realized that there are many things that can be done to help others maybe just by giving them out brochure with the information we provide and services in it. I contacted the Student Cupboard and they had guaranteed me they were going to show up and they did not, but I gave out and also simply mentioned their services to students that needed it or ask for it. Overall, I think that as a whole class of the social movement we did an excellent job and we learn something new and also helped and informed others of our topics. This is something I will never forget I accomplish with my classmates and it has been the most important thing I have done since I been in Fresno State that has impacted me.
