Listening Table

 

            On this course on our listening table our group, which consists of Karen, Andres, and my self, spend at least 2 hours in organizing this event in our social movement class. Ideally we did mostly on more than once on different days. In our planning we were able to get the assists of our instructor Dr. kubal in which he set the standards on how to implement our civil rules. Also we were able to organize in a way to facilitate the approval process of the university. 

 

To summarize how we did to publicize this event we first set-up some tables and chairs and then in which we deicide to also make some trifold post boards. We also gather up some fruit's like apples, bananas, grapes, oranges, and even some bottles of water. In the front of our tables we set-up some poster signs that read some quotes from our readings on food insecurity here in Fresno. In one of our post sign it read 1out 5 will be have food insecurity.

 

If we were going to make any improvement on this listening table, I feel one of the things that our group would do is go down and up the free speech three days a week and even pass out flyer in regards to what date we are going to be doing this, so that way more students will be aware of what are causes that have been effected and how this food insecurity has effected all of us at one time or other.  In the positive side, we feel that we were able to reach those students who were present or who passed by our table. Also the information that we gave out was to educate those who had no idea of how food insecurity is so wide spread here in the valley.

 

In conclusion we feel that our discusses of our actual event has made an impact on some of the students who were present at the time of our listening table.
