Macedonian Police Fired Tear Gas & Rubber Bullets at Refugees
For this article it talked about the refugees in Greece were injured Sunday when Macedonian police fired tear gas, rubber bullets, etc. on the Greek side of the border. The political opportunity behind the article, was more on the authority side they were trying to make the immigrants from crossing and going back where they came from. More than 10,000 immigrants were stranded at the Greek border outpost of Idomeni since February. The resource mobilization, whether the police were trying to flee the immigrants back to the other side of the Greek border, no immigrants are to cross. After a series of border shutdowns across the Balkans closed off their route to Central and Western Europe. As for the Framing, maybe the people over sees in Greece treat their situations differently but too much weapons involved is not what you call something persuading to getting your point across the safe way.
Colombia Marks National Day of Memory and Solidarity with the Victims
For the second article, this event is little more peaceful and it takes place in Colombia, marches were held over this past weekend (April 9th or 10th) The political opportunity was to mark the National Day of Memory and Solidarity with the Victims to remember victims of human rights abuses in Colombia. The framing was more of people getting together and honor the victims that were murdered. And the resource mobilization was a man or women named Vasco helped organize a march honoring the over 300 people that were murdered and disappeared by paramilitary forces in the town of Trujillo in the 1990s. This day was to be forever honored and to remind the state and Colombia about the families who were homeless from their land and who were forced to leave their farms, and to mourn the death of their families being murdered also.
