Protest March
This protest march was made possible with the support of Animal rights, Inequality of education, Sexuality and Human Tariffing, Class and labor, Criminal injustice's, and Food insecurity and Hunger, in which we all came together in this march.
On prior to our march we all assembled in the free speech area of Fresno State and with the guidance of Dr.Kubal as we gathered all of our poster boards, signs, and homemade signs to start this event. However, in the last two weeks we have been brain storming on what, how, and when are we going about this protest march. Since all things fell into place very well, we put this into motion.
I will briefly give an account of how it went down. First we all assembled in the free speech and proceeded to go east towards the main water fall, I felt like a real protester and even felt some goose bumps on my skin and since all of our voices came together it made a difference in our march. This reminds me of how frame aliment works. It's when you take other movements that are not connected and make them band together, like we did on our protest march.
Furthermore the extent of our involvement in our Hunger and Food insecurity is to how food distributions sites like panties have seen an increase in the number of persons asking for food and this has put a burden on social services and churches. Also here in the valley prices for food that are healthy have gone up. Also with fuel prices rapidly rising, it's just a matter of time when food prices also rises.
First I want to connect in the positive side of our protest march on March 4th. I feel that it went very well due to there was quite of bit of other movements with their signs and our yelling was very vocal and heard in some offices and classrooms. On Shaw Avenue there was some cars honking at us in support of us, even though they really didn't know our cause.
On a negative side I feel that it would be nice to do three protest marches during our semester in our social movement class. Also to have the protest march into farther away from Fresno State. Like down west Shaw and onto Cedar Avenue
Although I cannot express gratitude to every group who played a part on this march, I must give thanks to Dr. Kubal. He has provided us with invaluable guidance and direction that has shaped our sociological perspective on social movements.
