The first article talks about the harms caused by us, humans, to the environment which are causing the sixth largest extinction in the history of the Earth. After the extinction of the dinosaurs, we are causing the next biggest disappearance of life on our planet. Due to our consumption of fossil fuel, deforestation, pollution, ocean acidification, and forced migration, every animal habitat is being affected drastically. The second article talks about the recent chemical spill that happened in West Virginia. The spill happened only a mile away from one of the state's largest water treatment plant, exposing the residents to many dangers in their water.
