Push Polling Survey
The way we conducted our push polling surveys was by calling random people who live in Fresno, through the program on Catishack. Since this was my first time ever doing completing a survey over the phone, I did not know what to expect. By the time the first hour was over, I had only completed the survey over the phone with one individual because many others didn't answer, or didn't want to take it. Luckily the one person I surveyed was very friendly and she had a lot to say when it came to answering the questions. While on the phone with her, I could tell that she was really thinking about the survey questions; she wouldn't just say yes or no she would also explain why her answer was a yes or no. Over all, for this being my first time surveying over the phone and only getting answers from one person, I think it went well because I got explanations from the respondent without even having to ask her to explain.
Since push polling over the phone isn't as easy as some people may think it is, people also completed our groups survey online to get more results. Most of the survey respondents were Hispanic, 70% of them and the second higher percentage of 16% were White. Also, most of the interviewees were female; 84% were female and 16% were male. 69% of all the survey respondents said they owned a pet and 43% of them also said that they are aware of animal abuse cases that occur, while 9% said they didn't care. 94% of the respondents ranged from the ages of 18 to 29, and the ages of 30 to 39, and 50-59 were both at 3%.
