Chalking Event

 

For this next event, my group chose to get chalk and write imporant information about our group and what we feel others should know. The whole reason we decided to do chalk on campus was to bring awareness to our cause. Our group is C.A.P.E. We wrote down some important statistics that we felt would help inform others about our group in the free speech area in front of the library. The reason we chose this place was because many students pass through this area throughout the day,. We felt like this location would catch a lot of students, professors, and visitor's attention, and make them want to know more about our group. There were a few things we could have fixed or changed with this event. Something that could have been fixed would be the statistics that we used. We could have added more information, and looked for better statistics that could have helps our group in a better way. If we had a more varieties of information and data, we would be able to bring more awareness to those around us and those who took the time to stop and look. I feel like we could of used more information that would catch the students that walked by attention. We could have wrote shorter phrase and information, that way people would not just look at the chalk and continue to keep walking because there was too much information and data to read. Students are often in a rush while on campus trying to get to and from class, and if the data is too long they will not take the time read them. I feel like the more colors that were used would catch someone's attention because they would want to know why there is colored chalk on the ground. We as a group should have took more time to plan this event out. It gets hard trying to communicate with our group when not everyone attends or takes part in our event. We did the best we could with the supplies we had. I honestly enjoyed this event the most because I had a lot of fun. I use to play with chalk all the time when I was younger, so being able to do something with chalk reminded me of the good days. This event was my favorite one to participate in because I had a good and enjoyable time, as well as the other members in my group.
