Tabling
So after our march we held a tabling session where we had food and drinks offered for anyone that wanted to come and hear our story. We got Fresno bully and rescue involved with our cause and they were gracious enough to bring a beautiful pit to campus. This played a vital role in not only attracting people to the table but also in getting our message across to people. Not only did we have an animal there but the raging grannies were there waiting to entertain us all with song and dance. Although controversial, the grannies know how to deliver a message to say the least. Last but not least, we also had flyers on our table loaded with valuable information for anyone that wanted to pick one up. The important thing to keep in mind here was that we had to use framing to get our message out as effectively as we wanted being that as a tabling participant we have very limited time with the people we are talking to so it is critical to get the most out of the attention they give us in such a brief amount of time.
As for a critique, I can't really say much. I think this was the most productive and successful part of our day, especially when we made signs together which I really felt like brought total strangers together. The only bad thing I can say is that our pizza order never actually got to our table but oh well, pizza really isn't that serious. I think the event in itself was a huge success and I think we really got our message out. If we did something similar everyday I think we could really make a difference. Maybe something I'd do different is to do it more consistently.
