Social Media Account

            The way our group decided to spread awareness about our criminal justice cause was to create a twitter account. The twitter handle was created under the name @crim..injustice in which we ran throughout the semester by posting video links and facts that supported our cause. The experience of creating this social media account was much different than the other four tactics we used this semester such as chalking, marching, tabling, and the movie because we were not directly in contact with the people to share our cause. Since we were unable to be in direct contact with the people reading the tweets it made it much more difficult to know if this tactic was as affective as the prior tactics we examined this semester. This tactic seemed much more problem prone than the other tactics because using the web instead of ourselves to get our points out allowed for errors that our group wasn't aware of until a later time. This meant not having the account running constantly which hampered our ability for people to learn about our cause. I feel the social media tactic can be a very effective tool since people with the same objectives can share the tweets and continue spreading of the word. Finally, I feel that this tactic was very successful even though we ran into some difficulties. We were able to spread our tactics word which educated others about our cause.
