Men for Equality of Women: Chalking Event

The chalking event that I participated in publicizing my teams cause was pretty interesting and fun. It was fun because just for that day I chalked on the ground like when I was a child and by chalking our cause it made the event a fun experience. I'm not going to say that I was not embarrassed at all to do it because I was super embarrassed. I almost didn't do it, but like I said earlier it was fun once I started chalking. During the event we started charting the income gap pay between the women and men. After finishing the drawing we went on to chalk our next drawing and as we did that I saw some ladies come up to our drawing and stared at it. As they stared they began to take pictures and right then and there it made me realize that this was not just an assignment, but there is an importance and significance in the cause that I am fighting for. That one experience alone really motivated me to research further into my group's cause. Even during the second chalk drawing in front of the library entrance there were people that came by supporting our cause and applauded us for our role as men fighting for the rights of women. I can see that by publicizing our cause by chalking we got people to take a moment of their busy life to notice situations that is still a problem in the world such as women's inequality. This experience was nerve wrecking, but yet it was an amazing experience. This experience really introduced me to the opinions and inputs of individuals that support this cause. In addition, compliments were also given in regards to taking the initiative of bringing awareness to others about women's inequality within society.
