The first video discussed the controversy over states using untested drug combinations on death row inmates. This has begun a trend as drug companies are refusing to let their products be used for the death penalty. Witnesses have spoke about what is seen on those the drug combinations are used. The chaos stems from the unavailability of lethal injections so states are using untested combinations that are being criticized as cruel and unusual punishment. These two drug combinations are causing immense suffering and are basically being tested on the death row inmates. Witnesses to these executions that use chemical concoctions are describing them as torture. These drugs that are being used are becoming scarce because their manufactures are beginning to deny the use for death penalties. With the shortage of execution drugs states are looking at returning the electric chair for executions.
The second video looks at the recent elections in Latin America that would mark the first time an FMLN candidate succeeds after decades of right-wing governments. It began with the discussion of right-wing President Juan Orlando Hernandez who was sworn into office despite the opposition by many because of the believed election fraud. Hernandez wants to militarize Honduras to join in the fight against drug cartels, and raise concern on human right abuses. The new social movements have created a new party, LIBRE. LIBRE is an organization for resistance and are making strides little by little with a goal to overthrow the dictatorship in Honduras.
