This story was about protestors in New York, a few who supported Donald Trump, and many others who did not. Anti-Trump protestors marched and chanted things like "Donald Trump, go away! Racist, sexist, anti-gay!" and "Don't give in to racist fear! Immigrants are welcome here!" Another man who is a Trump employee, Mexican immigrant, and a photographer, made a photo series, including one of him holding signs that said "Not a criminal" and "DREAMer." Another protestor held a sign that said, "90 a day shot and killed in America. Enough." On the other hand, Trump supporters held signs saying things like "Build the wall!" and We want Trump!" These chants and signs during the Trump protests are examples of the movement using framing to communicate their causes to the public. There was not any one spokesperson; many people told their personal stories along with holding their signs, while using language to get people emotional and join their cause to vote for/against Trump.

This story was about two men, Five Mualimm-ak, who is an adviser to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, and 74 year old long-time Harlem activist and "founder of the anti-police brutality organization All Things Harlem," Joseph "Jazz" Hayden. They were arrested and handcuffed to a chair overnight, for filming a confrontation between police and a mentally ill homeless man. Along with these two men, five other people were arrested when they went to the police station to inquire about why their friends had been arrested. This story shows political opportunity theory because it was a good time for the movement to spread the word about their cause. All of this commotion occurred as the men were leaving a book launch celebration. There were a lot of witnesses to the confrontation with the police, and it was captured on film and given to someone who had a lot of resources to get it out to the public and spread the word about their organization, Incarcerated Nation Corp (INC).
