March 10th: In continuation to a story that I have covered in a previous summary, border patrol agents have been given limits and restriction regarding when they are allowed to take fire on those coming near the border. Agents are not able to attempt to block any vehicles or use their bodies in any way that puts them in more risk than is already present. If vehicles are attempting to escape they are not to get in the way or fire at the vehicles. If there are migrants that are throwing rocks towards the agent, again, they are not to shoot but rather seek cover and get out of harms way. These regulations have been implemented due to U.S. border agents being involved in 20 fatalities since 2010. Agents were also involved in 67 shooting incidents. These numbers are too high and that is why restraints have been put on the capabilities of U.S. patrol agents. Another story that caught my interest was one that went into details about how Sgt. 1st Class Gregory McQueen was accused of creating a “prostitution ring of cash-strapped female soldiers.” This particular Sgt. Is relevant because he is involved and associated with sexual assault prevention programs. He actually runs the sexual assault and harassment prevention wing at Fort Hood. When he was finally charged he received 21 counts against him. Other officials within this area have also been suspended for similar counts. One of the recent officials accused of sexual assault is Lt. Col. Joseph Morse. In total officials who have been accused of things along these lines have added up to five. General Jeffrey Sinclair is another official that has been accused of sexual assault. An army captain is testifying that Sinclair has forced her to perform oral sex two times within three years. He threatened both her and her family if she ever told anyone of the acts she was forced to perform.
