The second movement in which my group C.A.P.E (Citizens Advocating for Pre-trial Expansion) participated in so we can practice different types of movement activism and draw attention on what we are advocating for was the group decided to participate in Protest march. Fresno State already had an event for our students who are in this class to address their issue and our group decided that it was an excellent idea to also participate in March Forth on March 4th. When all the groups were done presenting their information to the public, which was majority Fresno State students who passed by the Free Speech area, the person conducting the event who was Professor Kubal decided we should begin our protest all around campus. I thought this was a great idea since we all put in so much hard work into our research. When we were done tabling we al got our pitch forks with our signs attached to them and walked all around the Fresno State campus but did not go inside any classrooms are and tried not to disturb any lectures. What I also liked about walking around campus was how those participating into the protest we got to walk outside the campus, location was next to the Shaw street, and the public got to see all the signs and chants we had. When we turned back to campus there were some students heading to class and others coming out of class, I was glad people had the opportunity to see all the issues that were affecting our campus and community. There were also some people that high five some members that were holding up signs and chanting and wanted to participate in our cause but because classes were still in session it was hard to get others to get involved. What I enjoyed the most about protesting was how we all had passion for our cause and it was great seeing others from campus who are also passionate about change for the better. We all want our school and community to be aware that there are drastic issues that are affecting us daily and it won't change until we take the first step and that is to get involved locally.
