Meteorologist Jeff Masters: Climate Change Affecting Weather Patterns Regardless of Season
There was a snow and ice storm in the East coast of the U.S. with 13 deaths and over 550,000 people without power. A storm like this hasn’t been recorded since 2000. Governors have declared states of emergency to the states from Louisiana to New Jersey. With states like Philadelphia getting 3 inches of snow per hour and an inch in New York. You don’t see 10 inches of snow very often in Alabama. The National Weather Service called the storm “an event of historical proportions…” identifying it as “catastrophic…crippling…paralyzing…choose your adjective” With this snow and ice storm going on in the east you can see the affect that climate change has made. Because the west is experiencing massive drought. Climate change patterns are affecting all weather patterns. Which also affects everyone.
Drone on Your iPhone: Apple Drops Objections to App Tracking U.S. Strikes Overseas
Josh Begley made the app, Drones+. Apple had rejected the app about five times. The application notified you every time there is a U.S. drone strike. The app was the same Josh just changed the name to Metadata+ and finally Apple agreed, they rejected it before for political reasons. The app notifies you when drone attacks that the U.S. is conducting in various countries occurs. Waziristan and the tribal areas is where most of the strikes occur. And these places are virtual military occupation by Pakistani Military. There is intense repression, and the military do not treat them as citizens. They open fire, kill them there was a 24-hour curfew for months, and there were polio vaccinations as well. And now a three-year-old girl has polio, since 2001. The population in Waziristan is caught between the Pakistani state, military and militants.
