March 4th/ the March
I arrived at 11 am to the March fourth event on behalf of MEW, Men for Equality of Women. After completing the tabling event, I proceeded to gather picket signs and handed them to participants. I grabbed two signs and awaited further instructions. The march was interesting and an unforgettable experience. We marched around campus, chanting and holding our signs high. We proceeded to march down Shaw Avenue and had people passing by chanting with us. I remember there was a guy in a sports car that burned rubber as we were awaiting for the light to turn green and he shouter fight for five. It was awesome.
My picket signs read "no, means no" and "hunger awareness". There were students there from majors other than sociology at the March 4th event. As a result from the March event, I got the opportunity to meet new people and got the experience of what is like being part of a protest. I had never in my life being part of such an event due to personal reasons. One of the causes that received mass attention from bystanders was the fight for five cause. It seemed that a lot of the people informed on the issue wanted to see change and were looking forward to this March end/ bring awareness to the issue. Some bystanders asked me if this was the beginning of the fight for five march, and were disappointed to learn that this march was only for class purposes and a one day thing. It was hot and i was tired from the long walk, but continue to march for some time. I continued to put my picket signs away after the march ended. I stayed a little longer after the march was over, in order to help clean up. I didn't finish cleaning up because I left early for work. Overall this march event was
