Today was an amazing experience; I was able to see something different for the first time. I was able to experience in a way a protest. Which was new to me, it was the first time in my life that I ever did something like that. I started off at 11 o'clock; at first I was not sure what to do exactly so I sort of just stood there in the crowd. I then decided to ask someone what I should do, someone mentioned to do the posters. So I then asked my professor and he said yeah it would be nice if we stapled the posters onto the wood. I then started to look through the posters, to put together the ones that went with each other and put the single ones in a different pile. As my friends and I worked together we realized how good some of these posters where. The posters were so inspiring; they had such an amazing imagery in them.  As I read some of the posters, I felt as if someone was telling me the whole story based on that topic. It was really interesting to see all the posters that Fresno State students made. It was amazing to know that a lot of people took the time to actually make these posters that have a lot of meaning to them. After I finished looking at the posters, I started to staple the posters onto the wood. I honestly felt like I stapled about 200 posters, well it felt like it was a lot but it was worth it. I did this between 11 AM all the way to 1 PM until the protest began.  One of the best parts of today was getting to know a few of the Fresno State students. I usually don't interact with students at school just because I more of a person that keeps to myself. But today I was able to get out of that shelf and interact with many students. I really enjoyed it; I didn't think I was going to have as much fun as I did today. We talked about many different things but mostly about the protest and what we were doing. We also shared our opinions on the topic and what topics we thought were extremely important. We had different opinions on the different topics, but we were able to communicate what we thought of them and what should be done in order to make a difference. We shared our thoughts and feelings and we also even shared personal experience based on animal abuse.  One of the girls shared their personal experience with animal abuse. She said as she walks to school from her house she saw the dog pound and the man who was driving the truck was chasing after a dog. She said she really didn't find anything odd about the man chasing the dog until she saw that he jumped on him. But even at that she thought her that it was OK maybe he felt threatened by the dog. Shortly after he starts wiping the dog, she said she didn't know what to do. She wanted to call the police but even at that she didn't know if they would do anything. So she continued her day and tries to forget what had happened. To me personally as she told the story I was really saddened by it, because it's true sometimes when we see the dog pound abuse the animals. We really don't know what to do, because we don't know if anything is going to be done. So many of us individuals just keep out mouth shut because to some people animal abuse may not be a major thing but it really is. We really need to make a difference with animal abuse, and also let people know that they should call the authorities when an animal is being abused. And assure them that the authorities will do something about the abuse. Shortly after, we finish talking   I started to create an inequality poster. The reason why I did an inequality poster was because I personally feel that men and women in this world are not equal. In this world the pay for men and women are very different. It's sad to know that many people believe that Women are not capable of doing the same thing as men. To me personally this is very disturbing as a woman myself I feel that we deserve the chance to prove ourselves just like men. That is my main reason why I decided to do any inequality poster and I actually use that poster in the protest that we had today.

The protest finally began, as we started off to March away from the free-speech area. We made our way through the school. As we walked a lot of the students started chanting, many different things. One of the things that a lot of us were chanting was " human trafficking is modern day slavery." As I heard those words I knew it was real, I knew it existed and I knew it was everywhere in the world. But today I realized how bad of an issue it was, and it will continue to be an issue until we put a stop to it. This literally opened up my eyes to see how there's a lot of imperfection in the world that needs to be fixed. I can honestly say that as we walked the schools and said those words out loud it brought hope into my heart. I knew that a lot of people that were there today cared about these issues, therefore they were trying to get the word out in the public. Which was an amazing experience for, because it showed how much people cared about a particular issue. Another topic they were chanting about was animal rights. The reason why they made animal rights a big deal was because every 13 seconds and animal is put down. I learned this today during the protest as I heard them chanting about it, and I was so heartbroken to hear that because I personally love animals. So it literally broke my heart knowing that every 13 seconds and animal is being basically killed. And I personally believe that every living organism in this world deserves a chance to live. I know that the overpopulation of dogs and kittens are extremely large, but there are things we can do besides killing these poor animals.  This protest Open my eyes to the horrible things out in the open of our living world. I was just extremely sad but I also felt good knowing that we were trying to make a difference by letting people know what was going on through our little protest. It was an amazing experience to do this protests, because I never in my life did anything like it before; and it's something I will never forget.

For the last hour I decided to go around the tables since I really didn't get a chance to in the beginning. It was around 2 PM when I started to ask questions to see what each table had to say about their topic. There were two topics that extremely got my attention, the first one being men for equality of women. I had already been interested in this topic so I really wanted to know more about it. One of the girls went into depth about it, and even told me about a case in Fresno. The case was called Rizo vs. Fresno County office of education. When she first mentioned this I was completely shocked. I guess I can say that I was shocked because it was happening in Fresno County in my city. As she explained to me what was going on I was even more shocked because she told me. That this woman was working there for a couple years and then this male was working there for only a year and he was getting paid more than her just because he was a man.  She decided to sue them, and the case has not yet been closed, this case has been going on for over year now. And to me personally I felt like she has a right to Sue and she should win this case because we can see the inequality in this case written all over it. The second topic that really caught my attention was the criminal injustice system. I really didn't know much about this topic so when I asked I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The men that helped me out and gave me information explain to me what it was about. He basically told me that people who have in the way power in their hands like doctors or celebrities can go around the criminal injustice system. But that really wasn't the part that really got me; he shared a personal experience with me, which I was really shocked to hear. He told me a little about his past and how he had gone to jail for a year because he gave three pills to one of his ex-girlfriend's. He himself was a drug addict so when he gave the pills to the girl he wasn't in his right mind. So the Doctor Who was prescribing him the pills didn't end up going to jail it was he and now he has a felony on his record and can't even get a job. So he basically shared his personal experience with me and I was shocked that he did and because he did I was able to understand how the justice system is really messed up.
