On this weeks assignment I chosen the one on this because it was very interesting to me in regards to climate change and inequality. In a report that Amy Goodman presented to use in her interview with Asad Rehman, former national organizer of the Stop the War Coalition in the U.K, he says "If we want to deal with the issues of conflict, go to the root cause: inequality and climate change". I feel that one thing has an effect on some else no matter what it is. In example the drought in Syria which just in about 5 years approximant over 2 million humans have suffered and 80 % of livestock has died due to the lack of water and lets not forget the toll because of political instability. Its astonishing how war can bring about instability and even massive social unrest. Even though there is no war here in California, but there has been a drought for over 5 years in part this has driven in part because by food prices to triple. Also one other example is that the climate or drought here in California has not lead to any rise of a terrorist group, however we will be suffering in a few years to come if the government's inability to cope with this now will create economic volatility or will be exploited to us here. Going back to Amy Goodmam in her interview with Asad Rehman he say's "Climate change exasperates every existing tension and it exasperates every inequality and it drives conflict and war.
