In the first video I watched, it discussed the issue of sexual abuse happening in a particular protestant church. Much like what goes in many colleges in trying to protect their name and reputation, sexual abuse cases basically get swept under the rug. While these victims even after going to people at the head of their church can get no help, and in one girls case almost shunned for being rapped. People put the focus and blame on the victims even if they are not of legal age and nothing is ever reported to the authorities. Much like incidents that happen in colleges and other groups, especially powerful ones, how much of this goes unreported? How long has this been going on for? How many lives destroyed because of this and these people that allow it to happen? While incidents like this at times do come too the surface, why is there still no legal action being taken place? The guy in the incident with the 15 year old girl, no legal action was done that we know of even after the story had been told and he had admitted too the sexual activity. This is one of the contributing factors to our decaying values in society, we have fundamental flaws that we allow to continue time after time. With large and powerful organizations getting free passes again and again. Not only that, but it is obvious is these cases that these organizations are covering something up, especially when they go hiring an investigative company then fire them, only to rehire them with new contract and terms when it seems they may have acquired information they don't want released.

The second video hits on the same topic as the first video did with sexual abuse going largely unpunished and covered up in the church organizations. While in this incident there was monetary value rewarded and over 800 priest let go, this still does nothing to solve the problem even remotely close. These predators are still out there, whats stopping more from joining or developing, also those that may still be within the church ranks. Even though $2.5 billion total was rewarded between all the victims, how many victims in this being split between? and many would agree that you can't put a monetary value on the nightmare these kids had to go through, their lives were forever altered and damaged. Is this is only within the last 10 years that there has been an attempt to rectify those crimes within the church. But as stated in the video, I too feel to many times churches and church officials almost take an escape goat and dodge the issue of these incidents. When it is very, real and is happening. Like many things and what many people will choose to do is try and ignore the problem thinking it will pass over. I think what many don't realize in these organizations is the death toll these situations cause, largely on the victim side. Many people can not cope with the fact that they were sexually assaulted.
