In the first video I watched Treating Humans Worse Than Animals: Prison System Voices Decry Solitary Confinement of Mentally Ill it dealt with the issue of not treating mentally ill prisoners with equal rights. This issue was brought up after the death of Jason Echevarria, former mentally ill prisoner at Rikers Prison in New York City. Jason died after eating a package of detergent, after his cell was flooded. Many of the prisoners who cannot afford to pay bail, but many inmates require supervision due to them being mentally ill. Another prisoner at this same prison had a similar case. Inmate, Jerome Murdough also died due to room temperatures in a solitary mental observation unit. He was suppose to be checked on every fifth teen minutes. Due to these incidents the Prison of Riker is now being investigated and pressured by those family members to have a reform on rights for those inmates. I think if the guards are trained with more regulations and prisoners are treated with the rights that they have, there will be a changed in this prison.

In the second video I watched Right to Return: Deported After Protest by His Family, Mexican Immigrant to Attempt U.S. Re-entry it deals with the reform of immigration. The video includes a man who was detained in the detention center of ICE in Arizona and then deported to Mexico. Jaime Valdez who was on a hunger strike with his family and then detained by immigration. Valdez as been living in the United States for fifth teen years along with his family. He is now trying to come back to the United States, due to all the violence that goes on in Mexico. Valdez says he was first detained because of an error, he was misrepresented by a criminal layer and then was send to ICE where he was not offered any rights. Valdez wants to his voice to be heard regarding the immigration reform and the mistreatment that occurs in faulty detentions.
