It has been reported by the Associated Press that there is an American citizen, a member of the Al-Qaeda, who is planning to attack Americans who are overseas. The Obama administration has taken into consideration whether or not they should kill him; if they do, this will not be the first time killing an American citizen who is thought to be a suspect. Glenn Greenwald included the term “pre-crime,” implying that a suspect is considered to be a suspect not based on what they are doing or did, but on what they might do. Greenwald stated, “The government will try to guess who will engage in crimes in the future and treat them as a criminal.” He also expresses that the government should not have the power to declare a person guilty just based on the suspicion to commit a crime in the future. I agree with Greenwald, the Obama administration should not have the power to treat any person as a criminal if they have not yet committed a crime.

There is now an app for iphones that tracks every U.S. drone that has been reported; for two years Apple rejected it but now it is available. Josh Begley, a New York University graduate, created this app so that we would be notified every time there was a drone strikes overseas; his idea was for us to be more connected and aware of what is going on. This app was rejected 5 times and the reasons why it faced rejection was based on political views, not on its standard or lack of guidelines. In my opinion, I think Begley’s app was rejected because those who would download it would see how many drone strikes have been done. Begley had to create the app a certain way and then after it was accepted he submitted all of the data into it.
